Breakfast and Books with Kellogg’s and Scholastic {Giveaway}

By October 13, 2011Reviews

Books might be my favorite thing in the world. I love to curl up with a good, long book and I am trying to give my kids that same love of books each and every day.  We have a large and ever growing library that gives us all immense joy.  We are transported to different worlds, learning life lessons, laughing and exploring each and every time we read together.  I vividly remember my excitement at the book fairs as a child and when we got the scholastic mailers each month, I loved picking out a new special book.  I expect many of you have similar memories and want the same love of reading to pass to your children.

Breakfast has always been a favorite for me and now, as a mom, I love it even more.  There are no tears over broccoli at breakfast.  No one is too tired to eat.  Everyone is happy and I clear clean plates and bowls from the table.  For parents, this is like nirvana.  Thank you, breakfast.  Some days, you are the only thing my kids eat willingly. I love you.

Well, this fall two of my favorite things are coming together!  Kellogg’s, Scholastic and Walmart have teamed up to bring you a great deal with Breakfast and Books!

    We are a family that loves books. Growing up as a child, I couldn’t read enough and now, I share the same love of books with my kiddos. We read together every night at bed time and through out the day. We don’t have a favorite story, but we love ready books that follow the season. For example, we just read the book, “Scaredy-Cat, Splat” by Rob Scotton. It is a story that involves Halloween and the month of October. For our family, reading is a wonderful adventure that we get to experience every day!

    We have so many favorite books, I don’t think I can pick just one! But now that our daughter is in preschool, we are able to participate in the Scholastic Book Clubs and explore new titles while growing our home library. I try to order 3-4 books per month, plus we make frequent trips to the public library to try out new books at home. Right now a favorite is the Arthur books by Marc Brown!

    Yeah. I think my girls’ favorite book is a field guide to farts….with buttons they can press to hear the fart sounds.
