12 Days of Diapers – Give Diapers and Win a $200 Gift Card, Flip Camera or Stroller!

By December 6, 2010Helping Others

I am excited to announce that as part of the Every Little Bottom Campaign, Huggies is going to give everyone that can help diaper a baby’s bottom the chance to win big before the holidays!

While we worry about what we can give our kids this holiday season, many families are wondering if they will be able to afford to pay their bills and diaper their babies.  1 in 3 moms struggle to provide diapers for their children.  Non food items such as diapers are not covered by food stamps or WIC and are often overlooked as people give food and warm clothing to those in need.

I know you have already been asked so many times from so many organizations, but I am asking you to help once more this holiday season.

Welcome to the 12 Days of Diapers!

For the next 12 days I am looking for diaper donations and providing my facebook and twitter followers with facts about diaper need and easy ways to make  a difference.  If you decide to join my band of baby loving diapering elves you will be entered to win a fabulous prize!

You could win a Flip 8 GB Mino HD Camera (RV $229.99), a $200 Amazon Giftcard or an Aprica Ready to Roll Cadence Stroller (RV $249.99)!  It’s your choice…all you have to do is help!

If you follow my blog, you know that I am very proud to be an official Ambassador for the Every Little Bottom Campaign.  The goal is simple.  Huggies wants to raise awareness of diaper need and encourage the donation of 20 million diapers.  Huggies is donating up to 22 million diapers and has challenged us as caring individuals across the country to donate another 20 million.  Currently, 11 million diapers have been donated by people just like you and me through the Amazon wishlists and so many more have been donated to local diaper banks, shelters or food banks.

Here is the scoop.  There are 3 Ways to Give!

Via Me for my local Charlotteans

If you are local and would like to support my diaper drive please email me (mommywords at gmail.com) and let me know and I will come by and pick the diapers up or provide you with a donation point!  If you know where I live you are free to drop them off too.  I’m open to any and all diapers and they are needed in sizes from newborn through training pants sizes.  I will donate these diapers to The Summit House and the Center of Hope, both shelters that have diaper need high on their lists as they work to keep families together and in a home.

Via Amazon Wishlist

If you want to participate by donating to one of my 2 Diaper Bank Partners you can click on the links below and donate via the Amazon Wishlists that have been set up.  I am proud to be partnered with the Atlanta Community Food Bank and the Diaper Bank of Northern Indiana.  Click on either link to be taken to their wishlist!  After you have donated simply leave a comment letting me know you have done so and keep your confirmation!  For each $25 donation you receive an entry.  If you are the big winner I will ask you to send it to me via email.

Via Your Local Agencies

Diaper need is everywhere and I know that you may be moved to help in your own community.  If you want to make a donation to a local agency please feel free to do so.  Just tell me what you donated and why you chose that agency in the comments.  Please get a donation receipt that you can send me if you are chosen as the winner.

Where I Beg and Plead for Babies’ Bottoms…

Please, please please help.  It does not take much but makes such a big difference.  I can’t imagine being unable to provide the most basic needs for my kids but I have seen mothers who don’t need to imagine it at all because they live it.  I hope you can find a little room in your holiday giving to diaper a few bottoms and help raise awareness of this issue.  For me, now when I think of canned food and other drives, I think of little tushies that need my help and I try to throw in a pack of diapers.  The more people who are aware, the less babies will be in need.

So if you can give now, you might win a huge prize.  If you can’t, I understand.  Just keep the issue in your mind.  Spread the word.  And when you have a little extra, consider helping cover a little tush.

In case you forgot….our fabulous prizes!!!  Your choice if you win!

First…a $200 Amazon Giftcard

Second…a Flip MinoHD 8GB valued at $229.99

Third…an Aprica Cadence Stroller valued at $249.99

Giveaway Rules:  If you give via Amazon Wishlists or at your local agency, you must leave a comment on this post to win and have your confirmation available should you win.  If you donate directly through me, I will compile a list of your names and add them to my comment tally.  I will then choose a winner using Random.org and post the results.  This giveaway is open to U.S. and Canadian residents.  This giveaway runs from December 6, 2010 to December 17th, 2010 at midnight.  Good luck and thank you!

Disclosure: As an official Blog Ambassador I am a selected social media partner for the Huggies Every Little Bottom campaign. I am compensated for my time as a consultant to the program. You should know that the content, opinions and enthusiasm for this cause are entirely my own.

You know what I like? I was saving points with huggies and realized that there was not a thing that I wanted… SO, I donated all my points to diaper some heinys. What a great thing!!!

  • Such a wonderful program! Disposable diapers were something I struggled providing for my children and we did it with supplementing with cloth diapers. I can’t imagine the night times without the disposables, which would have been awful.

It’s wonderful that so many are finding a way for each to help the other.

I am a Midwest girl at heart so I gave a 63.99 package of diapers to the Indiana Diaper bank. Yikes, dipaers have sure gotten expensive since you were a baby my sweet Brittany!

  • I gave several packages of diapers to the Junior League of Atlanta for the campaign!

The first time I gave to the Indiana Diaper bank over $50 worth of diapers so I needed to comment a 2nd time. But I actually have a question, is there a Diaper Bank in Northern Va? I could copy you and have neighbors and friends drop them at my house and I will deliver. You go girl!!! The good ideas just keep on coming!

I’ll certainly spread the word, it’s such a wonderful campaign and while it doesn’t cost much, you know it’s not some anonymous money with no idea where it is spent.

  • Catherine says:

Thanks, Brittany, for spearheading such an awesome campaign! Glad to help in any way that I can.

I just donated via amazon’s wishlist to the Indiana Diaper bank. I had no idea there was a crucial need. Thank you for putting the word out there. Money is tight this year so we’re not celebrating Xmas by exchanging gifts, just having a nice family dinner. I hope you meet your diaper goals.
